The Sunday Times, October 7, 2001 (Malta) Brilliant Italian pianist at MCI inaugural concert. "Luisi has recently won the first prize in the Bach competition in Saarbrucken and his performance on Monday certainly justified this award . He displayed a very neat style of pianism and his playing flowed mellifluously with fine linear clarity. Luisi's performance revealed a technique characterised by a remarkable independence and control of the fingers. An economic use of pedalling and half-pedalling ,mostly to accompany single notes, enhanced the overall effect without exaggerating the dynamics. This was warm-hearted and spirited playing , completely free from rhetoric ,very appealing and which took the audience immediately to the heart of the music." "A series of fortissimo chords opened the second part of the concert. These were the opening chords of Schubert's Wanderer Fantasia op.15. Full of contrasting pianistic styles, lyrical and dramatic at the same time, this was an unforgettable performance!"
